Erika joined our firm in September of 2018 as a Paralegal and English-Spanish translator and became our Office Manager in 2021. Erika is a Birmingham native currently residing in Illinois. She is passionate about helping others and supporting the Latin community. In her free time Erika enjoys exploring the outdoors and supporting the local community.
After earning her High School Diploma at Homewood High School, Ruby joined our firm as paralegal and translator, fluent in English and Spanish. Ruby has been working with us for two years and is now our Lead Paralegal. She is passionate about learning new things everyday and new ways to help those in need. In her free time, Ruby enjoys spending quality time with her family.
Yesenia joined our firm in January of 2021 as paralegal and English-Spanish translator. She is currently a student at Jefferson Community College majoring in Radiology Technology. In her free time, Yesenia enjoys the outdoors and going on hikes.
Eleanor joined our firm in February 2017 to pursue advocacy for migrants in a new arena. Previously, she was a legal assistant at a Birmingham general practice law firm. Before coming to Alabama, she held teaching appointments at the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor and Vanderbilt University. She received a Ph.D. in Spanish from the University of Michigan.
Dean joined our team in 2014. He is a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and worked as a Deputy Sheriff in Louisiana for 7 years. He then joined the Immigration and Naturalization Service as an Immigration Inspector in Louisiana and Florida, and he then served as a Deportation Officer in Louisiana and Alabama. After serving as a Supervisory Detention and Deportation Officer in Gadsden, Alabama, during the creation of and transition to the Department of Homeland Security after 9/11, he retired with over 30 years of law enforcement experience.
Dean brings his extensive expertise acquired during these many years of experience to help our attorneys and clients navigate the complexities of our immigration agencies and their processes and procedures.
Vinni has been working for our firm since 2017, and is primarily responsible for finances, accounting, and translation in English and Spanish. Originally from Monterrey, Mexico, he has been in Birmingham since 2013. Vinni earned his undergraduate degree in Operations Management from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), and he is currently working toward his Masters in Business Administration with a focus in Finance.
Evie joined our firm in December of 2020. She is fluent in English and Spanish and can speak some French as well. She provides technological, organizational, and administrative support for our office.
Evie is currently a student at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, majoring in social work with a minor in French. She has a passion for advocacy and social justice work, and enjoys spending her free time with friends and family.
